This 20-day itinerary explores the diverse landscapes and iconic destinations of Eastern and Southern Africa. On your journey, venture from the vibrant city of Cape Town to the majestic Victoria Falls, through Botswana’s Chobe National Park and the famed reserves of Kenya and Tanzania. Your adventure concludes on the serene shores of Zanzibar. This itinerary offers the perfect blend of stunning natural beauty, cultural richness, and unforgettable wildlife experiences.

Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVE CAPE TOWN

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Three nights at the RADISSON RED V&A WATERFRONT. (B)

DAYS 2 – 3 : CAPE TOWN

Enjoy a full-day exploring the highlights of the Cape area, visiting Cape Point Nature Reserve and the Cape of Good Hope, Chapman’s Peak, Hout Bay and Sea Point. The next morning, you will have a half-day tour of the city and Table Mountain. Afterwards enjoy the afternoon at leisure, using the time to relax or wander around the waterfront area. (B)

DAYS 4 – 5: CAPE TOWN – VICTORIA FALLS

This morning you will be transferred to Cape Town Airport for your flight to Victoria Falls (flight not included). On arrival, you will be transferred to VICTORIA FALLS SAFARI LODGE, where you will stay for the next two nights. The lodge overlooks a waterhole where wildlife come to drink. A regular shuttle is available to and from the Victoria Falls township and the falls. Enjoy free time to explore the area, with a sunset dinner cruise arranged on one of the evenings. (B)

DAYS 6 – 7: VICTORIA FALLS – CHOBE

Today, you will be transferred by road to Chobe National Park in Botswana. Your lodge is located on the banks of the Chobe River, just outside the park and next to a local village. You will have the opportunity to spend the next two days exploring Chobe National Park with morning and afternoon game drives in open 4×4 vehicles plus boat cruises on the Chobe River. Two nights at CHOBE BAKWENA LODGE. (B, L, D)

DAY 8: CHOBE – NAIROBI

Today, you will be transferred to Victoria Falls airport for your scheduled flight to Nairobi (flight not included). On arrival you will be met by a representative of African Travel Specialists and transferred to SAROVA STANLEY for your two-night stay. The rest of your day is at leisure to explore the city. (B)

DAY 9: NAIROBI

Today, you will enjoy a tour of the Karen Blixen Museum (made famous in the movie – Out of Africa) and the Giraffe Centre. At the Giraffe Centre you can hand feed the magnificent Rothschild Giraffes. You will have the afternoon free to explore the many markets, art galleries and museums of Nairobi. (B)

DAY 10: NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU

Today, you’ll be transferred to your lodge in Lake Nakuru National Park, passing through the scenic Great Rift Valley. Along the way, enjoy views of the park, renowned for its rhino population and vibrant aquatic birdlife. After lunch, embark on a late afternoon game drive in the park after which you will return to the lodge by sundown. Overnight at SAROVA LION HILL LODGE. (B, L, D)

DAYS 11 – 12: LAKE NAKURU – MASAI MARA

After breakfast, you will be taken on a boat ride on Lake Naivasha and a walk on Crescent Island. Afterwards, enjoy lunch will be at Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge, before you are transferred to your scheduled flight (included) to the Masai Mara. On arrival you will be met by your driver/guide and taken to your lodge. Here you will explore the rich grasslands and rolling hills known for the huge herds of plains game, black–maned lion, elephants and many other species. You may also like to take a guided walk or an early morning balloon safari (at additional cost) over this magnificent area. Two nights accommodation at MARA INTREPIDS. (B, L, D)

DAY 13: MASAI MARA – SERENGETI

Today you will depart from the Masai Mara to Serengeti (Tanzania) by air (flight included). On arrival at Seronera Airstrip you will be met and transferred with game viewing en-route to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon game drive in Serengeti National Park. Two nights accommodation at SERENGETI SERENA LODGE. (B, L, D)

DAY 14: SERENGETI

Spend a day viewing game in the Serengeti. The area is regarded as having the greatest concentration of wildebeest, zebra, giraffe and antelope in Africa. During the migration, there are millions of hoofed animals crossing the treeless plains of the Serengeti. The Serengeti boasts large numbers of predators such as lion, cheetah, leopard and hyena.  DAY 15: SERENGETI – NGORONGORO

After breakfast, you will travel by road to Olduvai Gorge, the world-famous archaeological site where you will stop for a picnic lunch. In the afternoon continue to the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, where you will check-in to NGORONGORO SERENA LODGE for dinner and spend the next two nights. (B, L, D)

DAY 16: NGORONGORO

This morning you will head into the crater for a full day of game viewing enjoying a picnic lunch on the crater floor. Return to the lodge in time for dinner. (B, L, D)

DAY 17: ZANZIBAR

After breakfast, depart by road to Arusha with a packed lunch box, arriving at the airport in time for your scheduled flight to the island of Zanzibar (flight included). On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel set amongst mosques, minarets, Hindu temple towers and church spires in the middle of Stone Town. Three nights at KISIWA HOUSE. (B, L)

DAYS 18 – 19: ZANZIBAR

This beautiful “spice island” is a mix of many cultures and you will be captivated by the unique architecture, the exotic cuisine, the smell of spices, the hospitality of the people, the white sandy beaches and the clear blue sea. You will have two full days to explore the island at leisure. (B)

DAY 20: DEPART ZANZIBAR

After breakfast, you will be met and transferred to Zanzibar International Airport for your outbound flight, marking the end of your trip.

Ngorongoro Serena Lodge

Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge is set on a crater rim overlooking the Ngorongoro crater described as the eighth wonder of the world. The lodge is built from local river stones and camouflaged with indigenous vines. Designed to blend completely into the landscape. Strung around the Crater rim, each with its own rock-enclosed balcony, the 75 rooms feature brass lamps, embossed leather headboards, wildwood mirrors, Maasai carvings and stylised prehistoric cave paintings. Part of Cape Town’s colonial history, the Portswood Hotel was originally built as a Convict Station with the current restaurant built over the well and holding cells for prisoners en-route to Robben Island. Located on the V&A Waterfront, the 103-room hotel is a mere 22km from Cape Town International Airport.

Kisiwa House is located on a quiet street in the heart of Stone Town, within easy walking distance to significant landmarks, museums, antique shops and restaurants. Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge

Set high on the saddle of tree-clad ridge commanding panoramic views over the Serengeti, the Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is the ultimate fusion of traditional African architecture and world-class style. Mara Intrepids

Mara Intrepids sits above a sweeping bend in the Talek River, overlooking the plains of the Masai Mara. The camp has 30 elegant guest tents which sit on a shady raised platform with sweeping views over the riverbanks, and each has a large 4-poster bed, traditional style furniture and modern en-suite bathrooms. The guides at Mara Intrepid are amongst the best in the Mara.

Sarova Stanley

The Sarova Stanley Hotel was opened in 1902, located right in the middle of Nairobi and has assuredly retained its Victorian elegance. The rooms are furnished in colonial style and ambiance, but with all modern conveniences. In addition to the suites, there are three categories of guest rooms equipped with an outdoor or atrium view.

Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge

The 98-room Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge is an international-style lodge brilliantly positioned on the eastern edge of Tanzania’s UNESCO-listed Ngorongoro Crater with stunning views over the crater. The central areas of this lodge are all within one large glass-fronted building, shaped in two rondavels and adjoined by a central well-lit atrium. Chobe Bakwena Lodge

Chobe Bakwena Lodge is an eco-luxury retreat comprising 10 rondavel style chalets, including 2 family units. Each chalet offers a river view, as well as laid-back luxury with its own raised deck with daybeds overlooking the river.
