DAY 2: FES
This morning you will be taken by private vehicle to Fes via the sacred town of Moulay Idriss and the Roman ruins of Volubilis – one of the best preserved Roman towns in North Africa. Three nights at RIAD EL AMINE. (B)
DAY 3: FES
Today you will be taken on a full-day tour of Fes with an English-speaking local guide, visiting the Medina of Fes el–Bali (Old Fes). You will explore the labyrinthine souks with their variety of craft workshops, meat, fruit and vegetable markets, mosques and medersas, as well as the dye pits and tanneries. (B)
DAY 4: FES
Today will be spent at your leisure in Fes. (B)
DAY 5: ERFOUD
This morning you will depart Fes through the Saiss Valley into the High Atlas Mountains, passing Berber villages before descending into the palm groves and slopes of the Ziz Gorge. From here you will head to Erfoud, one of the largest oases in all of Morocco, located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. Overnight at KASBAH HOTEL XALUCA ERFOUD. (B, D)
DAY 6: ERFOUD
This morning you will be taken to the Sahara Desert, visiting the historic 8th century caravan town of Rissani and the desert ruins of Sijilmassa en-route to your tented accommodation amongst the dunes. Experience a camel ride at sunset from the top of the dunes. Your desert experience includes an authentic Moroccan dinner under the stars. Overnight at the MERZOUGA LUXURY DESERT CAMP. (B, D)
DAY 7: OUARZAZATE
After breakfast you will be driven to the spectacular Todra Gorge stopping in time for lunch amid canyon walls rising up to 1,200 ft. This afternoon you will cross the southern slopes of the High Atlas Mountains before arriving at the captivating city of Ouarzazate. Overnight at the BERBERE PALACE. (B, D)
DAY 8: OUARZAZATE – MARRAKECH
Today will be spent exploring Ouarzazate. Visit the Kasbahs of Taouirirt and Tifoultout, the fortified village of Ait Benhaddou, backdrop for the film ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In the afternoon you will cross the Atlas Mountains and descend into Marrakech. Three nights at LES JARDINS DE LA MEDINA. (B)
DAY 9: MARRAKECH
Today you will have a full day tour of Marrakech, with an English-speaking local guide visiting the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque, the Saadian Tombs and Djemaa El Fna Square. (B, D)
DAY 10: MARRAKECH
Today you will experience a Moroccan cooking workshop with a local family. You will use local produce, learn how to make bread, and cook in a Moroccan traditional oven. Afterwards, enjoy the dishes you have prepared. A farewell dinner is included this evening at a local restaurant. (B, D)
DAY 11: MARRAKECH
This morning you will be transferred to Marrakech airport for your onward flight. (B)
